Khao Yai National Park is a popular forest escape north-east of Bangkok. Its cool season runs October to February, and higher areas can fall below 10°C at night in December and January. In the rainy season the forest is dense and green, but waterfall paths and trails get slippery.

PACKING NOTE

Bring a light layer for dawn and night drives, shoes with good grip for wet trails and a headlamp. Check the park's official site for current entry rules and campsite booking before you go.
